    Having a child is a an event that will change your life. If your new baby is your first child then it is the start of your journey into parenthood. For those parents that already have a family there are other challenges ahead as you integrate your new baby into both of your life and the lives of your other children. Whether you were lucky enough to conceive a girl or boy, there are some common sense things you can do to help ease the changes to your new family group. For starters you can talk with your child or children well before the new baby arrives. Talk of some of the additional things you will need to do and attempt to include your other children in them. Bringing mommy a clean diaper, for example, makes them part of things instead of feeling left out. Inclusion by its very nature will make everybody feel wanted and help them get used to the idea of a new brother or sister even before they arrive. Try to suggest jobs that may permit mommy to have a new helper instead of someone who becomes an extra distraction at a critical moment.
